Chloe Castro Biography

Chloe Castro is from Lincolnwood, Illinois.  She was born on October 8, 1986 in Saudi Arabia.  She is an incoming junior at Niles West High School.  She is a consistent straight “A” honors student.  Her freshman year she was ranked #8 in a class of 653, with a 4.0 grade point average, which means she is in the top 1% of her class.  She is on the Red Honor Roll.  She was one chosen out of 12 people total to participate in the Lincolnwood School District’s Gifted Program from second grade through eighth grade.  Chloe had qualified to participate in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Science Fair in Champaign-Urbana two years in a row, winning a First Award her first year, and an Outstanding Award her second year. She was chosen to participate in Math Team, which they won first place in their eighth grade competition; Spelling Bees; and in a program called Future Problem Solving, where her group won 2nd place for presentations.  She was the recipient of the 8th Grade Science Award, 8th Grade Music Award, and the President’s Award in 2001.  She was the recipient of the “Excellence in Spanish” Award her freshman year, and received her “Bronze Key” at Accolades her sophomore year.

Chloe has been dancing for five years now.  She began taking classes at Picture Us Different Dance Studio, where she danced for three years.  She has danced for talent shows at Lincoln Hall, and was cast as the lead dancer in their production of “Bye Bye Birdie.”  She was a cheerleader in 8th grade and freshman year.  She also was on the JV Pom Squad her sophomore year, and was chosen as a Captain of the squad.  This JV squad won First Place at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Competition last summer, and also received the “You Made A Difference Award” given by the principal.  Chloe was chosen as an “All-Star” at UDA Camp, where she had to do a routine in a group of three in front of hundreds of people.  She is currently on the Varsity Pom Squad, who will compete in August, good luck ladies!  Chloe was voted as “Best Dancer” by her fellow dancers her freshman and sophomore year.  She was also voted “Most Energetic,” “Best Facials,” and “Most Likely to Become a UDA Dancer.”  She is also a member of Orchesis, the Niles West Dance Company, where she was recently elected as an Officer for the upcoming year.  Chloe has also choreographed many numbers for Poms and Orchesis.

Chloe has attended acting camp, and was cast the lead role of Cinderella in 8th grade.  She has been in Choir, Swing Choir, and Beauty Shop Quartet during her years at Lincoln Hall.  She plays the clarinet, contra, and bass clarinet; and has been in band since 4th grade, a total of seven years so far.  She was on the basketball team for three years, and was a starting guard.  She was also on the volleyball team for two years.  Chloe was chosen to participate at the Central Suburban League Athletic Leadership Workshop, and also to be a member of N-Club at Niles West, which is also an athletic leadership club.

Chloe loves Hanson and Britney Spears.  She has seen Hanson in concert five times and has touched Taylor Hanson’s hand!  She has a passion for dancing.  She feels at home on the stage, and would give anything to perform.  It is the only thing that truly makes her happy.  And if you catch her when she thinks no one’s watching, you’ll find her practicing her turns, she is always dancing.  She spends her spare time going out with her friends to take time off from all the studying.  Chloe loves to joke around, and is known for her distinct and loud laugh.  She loves to make corny jokes and constantly makes references to “Friends” and “Zoolander.”

Her ideal man would have blonde hair, blue eyes, would be smart, understanding, and a good dancer.  Sounds a little like Taylor Hanson, doesn’t it?  Her ambition in life is to become a Britney Spears back-up dancer and marry Taylor Hanson.  Just kidding mom and dad!  She is interested in biology and chemistry and might want to study medicine to become a pediatrician.
